Happy 22 Months old Evan & Aidan! We can't believe how big you are. You are little boys now, our little babies are growing up. You are such wonderful big brothers to Izabella. You kiss her, caress her hair, and run around saying "Bay-bee" and "Beh-wahh." It's the sweetest thing ever. You say more words each and every day - it's amazing.
We love you both very much.Comments:Add a comment:

Today was Izabella's 1 Month Pediatric appt. She is doing just GREAT. This was her 2nd visit to our Pediatrician, Dr. Hein (whom we LOVE). She weighs a whopping 10 lbs. 2 oz, measuring 22" long and has a head circumference of 15". She is in the 64-70th percentile for everything!
Her stats are listed below:
Birth (8/22/06)
8 lbs. 13 oz.
20 1/2" long
1st Pediatric visit at 1 week of age (8/30/06):
8 lbs. 0 oz. (49th percentile)
20" long (50th percentile)
14" Head Circumference (50th percentile)
Pediatrician visit at 1 Month of age (9/26/06):
10 lbs. 2 oz (67th percentile)
22" long (70th percentile)
15" Head Circumference (64th percentile)
Basically, Dr. Hein gave me a HUGE pat on the back and said she is thriving on breastmilk. I am so happy to hear that. I really didn't know how she was doing, to be honest. She had lost a lot of birth weight initially and I wondered if they would tell me I needed to supplement with formula. Quite the opposite - I was told to keep up the good work! I am so proud of myself and how well breastfeeding is going for us. She gained more weight in 1 month than they expected her to (went from 50th to 67th percentile in 1 month for weight).
I explained to Dr. Hein about Izabella's sleeping habits. She naps great during the day, and sometimes I have to wake her at about 2 1/2 hours in between feedings to feed her again. At night, especially starting around 4 am, she wakes up all bright eyed and bushy tailed and wants to cluster feed until about 7 am. It's exhausting, because that's the time my twins wake up to start the day. It really takes it's toll on me and Slawek. Dr. Hein explained that he doesn't expect breastfed babies to really get on a good schedule until after 8 weeks, so hopefully in the next month we will see a dramatic change in he awake and sleep time. For now, I will continue demand feeding her and see where that takes us. (We get a lot of advice from people telling us to space her feedings out, but Dr. Hein said the opposite ~ I should be feeding her as much as possible during the day, so that hopefully she sleeps better at night. Spacing out feedings is not a good idea for a breastfed baby at 5 weeks of age, that's for sure.) I also explained to Dr. Hein that Izabella likes to stay latched onto my breast (using me as a pacifier) and that when my milk *lets down*, she gets so angry and mad because she isn't hungry. He laughed and said he was glad to see that breastfeeding was such a comfort to her. I'm glad she is so well established, that's for sure.
Every time I/we take Izabella out, I am stopped by a ton of people telling me how beautiful she is. All the nurses ran in to see Bella and her pink hairbow. It's as if they haven't seen hairbows before!
Everything is great - couldn't be better. Despite the fact that raising 3 babies at the same time is the biggest challenge of my life, it is also the most rewarding. Evan and Aidan love their little sister. I framed a 10 x 13 portrait of Izabella the other night and caught Evan and Aidan BOTH kissing the picture. They love their sister and constantly kiss her or run around saying "bay-bee" or "Beh-waah." It's adorable. Having 3 in diapers certainly has its challenges though. We have a lot of great help, though. (Thanks Grandma & Grandpa Campbell!)
Thanks for taking the time to read the update of the day!Comments:Add a comment:

Happy 34th Birthday to me!!!
Everyone (Slawek, Evan, Aidan, Bella, My Mom, My Dad, Melissa, TJ, Richie & Carson) took me out to eat for my birthday. It was a very nice evening out. It is VERY hard to go places, especially restaurants, with all 3 of our babies right now. But, with everyone's help, we did just fine. The boys ate really well, Izabella slept. It was a nice evening!!!
Thanks everyone!Comments:Add a comment:

Happy 4 weeks old, baby girl. I can't believe you are getting so big. You weigh just around 10 lbs now. and are more alert with each passing day. You have even smiled a few times at me. Your eyes are getting bluer and we all love you more than ever. Everyone fusses at me to put you down, but I love holding you so much, I just ignore them. Breastfeeding is going great, I enjoy it more than I ever imagined. I wish I could have breastfed your brothers, too. You are a joy to have in our lives.

Today we went to NICU picnic sponsored by Good Samaritan Hospital. It was nice to see a few friends of ours, plus Beth - our boys' primary care nurse. We didn't stay too long, as it was difficult with only 2 adults and 3 babies. We were very glad we went and are very thankful that our 2 precious miracle NICU graduates are as healthy as they are. God is great!

Happy 2 weeks old, baby Izabella.
We can't believe you have already been with us for 2 weeks now. You are growing more beautiful each and every moment. I look at you and I can't believe I am lucky enough to have you in my life.
Your brothers are fascinated by you. They look at you and say "Bayyyyy-Bee!" in the cutest way. I know they will always look after you and protect you. Aidan is protective of you already. Daddy held a telephone up when you were crying so Babcia Gorczyk could listen, and Aidan came over and immediately took the phone away from your face. He thought daddy was hurting you with that phone and didn't want it anywhere near you. It was very sweet and touching.
You are still nursing like a pro. I am so proud of you and everything you have taught me. I was so worried about how breastfeeding would go, but it turns out you already knew (and taught me). I love sharing this special bond with you - it's absolutely priceless.
As I look at Evan and Aidan, and how big they have grown in these past 21 1/2 months, I realize you will only be this small for a moment. Time will fly by and you will be a young lady before I can blind an eye. In the meantime, I am cherishing every one of your little baby noises, facial expressions and your baby scent. I love you so much!Comments:Add a comment:
