1 year ago today I found out I was pregnant with Izabella. Wow, how the time flies by. It seems like just yesterday. I felt like I was pregnant, but yet we were told we would never conceive naturally. What a shock. I was so ecstatic!
Thank God for our miracles.Comments:Add a comment:

Izabella had her follow up appt. with Dr. Strausser today, and we went ahead and incorporated her 4 month well-baby checkup (but no vaccines for her today. She is much too sick).
Izabella's Stats:
Weight: 13 lbs. 7 oz (40%'ile)
Height: 24" long (35%'ile)
Head Circ: 16.50" (71%'ile)
Dr. Strausser mentioned that in a few weeks, when Izabella is doing better, we can go ahead and start to incorporate solids into her diet. I doubt I will. I am wanting to hold off on solids until she is 6 months old. We'll see how her sleeping goes in the next month or so.
Dr. Strausser confirmed that Izabella is just about to cut a tooth. It's almost there. (Unfortunately. I don't know what I will do with her teeth and biting).
Dr. Strausser mentioned that Izabella is a little bit ahead in her physical abilities. Izabella can sit on her own for a few seconds and you can tell she is on the verge of sitting independently. Dr. Strausser said she will more than likely be sitting fully by 5 months of age! And Bella likes to stand a lot, she has very strong leg muscles. It's so funny to watch her and compare her to the boys. They were on target with their milestones according to adjusted age, which means they were sitting by around 6-7 months old. She is just an overachiever, my little princess stinkypants.
We did postpone her vaccinations by 1 month. She was due to get 4 vaccinations today. She is so sick, Dr. Strausser said she didn't want anything taxing her immune system more than it already is. She is running a fever already today, and the vaccinations could possibly make it worse.
For now, we are just focused on her getting well. I have never seen such sick babies in my entire life. :(Comments:Add a comment:

We spent many hours last night and early this morning with Izabella in Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Our poor little Princess.
Last night, I started noticing Izabella's breathing had become more labored. She was really struggling to get air in and out with all the congestion (both in her lungs and in her nose). I watchd her for many hours. She went from labored breathing, to holding her breath (apnea). At around 11 pm, I decided I couldn't risk going to sleep. What if she didn't wake up? I paged Dr. Strausser. I described Izabella's breathing to her over the phone (her apnea and the way she was breathing in 2 parts: her abdomen would expand and then her ribs would really pull in hard). Dr. Strausser sent us immediately to Children's Hospital to have Izabella monitored for a few hours.
When we got there, she had finally fallen asleep for a little while, but quickly woke up screaming with all the monitoring and probing. While her Oxygen level was good (99%), she still had the labored breathing, congestion and apnea. I met with the Emergency Room Dr. and she reassured us that Izabella's lungs were clear of Pneumonia, so after that, we agreed it was time to go home. We got home very early this morning.
We have a follow up appt. with Dr. Strausser at 9:20 am. When are we all supposed to sleep?Comments:Add a comment:

Izabella has RSV.
I can't believe this. I guess I am absolutely terrified of RSV ever since the boys were born preemies. We were warned about it, and even had a home nurse come out monthly for the first 5 months of their lives to administer a vaccine for RSV (Synagis) that cost $2000 per shot! Now both my boys are sicker than I have ever seen them and so is their 4 months old baby sister.
I am so sad, so exhausted.
Dr. Strauss gave me her home telephone number, as well as her pager number. I am supposed to call her if Izabella changes even in the slightest bit. If her fever goes up, I am to call. If her breathing worsens, I am to call. We have a follow up appt. on Tuesday for Izabella.
Evan, Aidan and Bella all have their own Humidifier now. It's so much fun spending $100 on humidifiers, not to mention $100 in Dr. co-pays plus $80 in prescription meds ~ all right at Christmas time. Don't get me wrong, anything for my babies. It's just sad that it happened at a Joyous time of year like this. (Who am I kidding, it would be sad no matter when they got RSV, really).
Please say a prayer for us, especially for little Izabella. She is so small, the most fragile of all three of our kids.
Merry Christmas.Comments:Add a comment:

Evan and Aidan have RSV. :(
My worse nightmare come true. We are giving them breathing treatments around the clock. They are on antibiotics and steroids. They are such a mess. This hit them hard and so fast. We are praying Izabella doesn't get this. I fell asleep an hour ago and dreamt she was on a respirator. Evan was sick on Monday, so I got him into the Ped. He was prescribed the steroids and antibiotics, plus albuterol and pulimacort thru the nebulizer. He was in the worst shape I have ever seen him in my entire life. Then this morning, I go to work and no sooner than I arrived, my mom called me crying asking me to come home because Aidan looked like he was in deadly shape to her. I came home, called my Pediatrician and they got me in for their 1st appt. Now both of them are on around-the-clock breathing treatments, antibiotics and steroids. Please send healthy vibes our way. Please God, don't let Izabella get this. RSV kills 500 infants annually and hospitalizes thousands of others. I am so exhausted.

WHAT IS RSV?
Respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-shul) virus (RSV) is a very common virus. RSV usually causes mild cold-like symptoms in adults and children. But premature babies or those with lung or heart problems have a high risk of getting very sick if they catch RSV early in life. This is because premature babies do not have fully developed lungs. Also, because they were born early, they may not have received virus-fighting substances (called antibodies) from their mothers that help them fight off RSV and other viruses.
Each year, an estimated 125,000 infants in the United States are hospitalized with severe RSV, the leading cause of infant hospitalization.1-5 Severe RSV infections may cause up to 500 infants deaths annually in the United States.6 RSV may also cause more long-term health problems, such as asthma.
RSV season usually starts in the fall and runs through the spring.7-10 But it can change. In some areas of the United States, RSV season may last all year. Ask your child’s healthcare provider when RSV season occurs in your area. If your baby is at high risk for RSV disease, be sure to discuss additional protective steps you can take during your baby’s next appointment. Learn more about risk factors for RSV disease.
Some RSV Symptoms
Usually, RSV causes mild, cold-like symptoms, such as a runny nose and fever. However, in some babies, the symptoms can quickly get worse.
Call your healthcare provider right away if your baby has any of these symptoms:
Persistent coughing
Wheezing
Rapid breathing
Problems breathing or gasping for breath
Blue color of the lips or around the mouth
Worsening symptoms can be severe and, in some cases, life-threatening. That is why it is so important to help prevent RSV.

Thanks to everyone who came to Evan and Aidan's Birthday Party today. We had a fabulous time! All the kids had so much fun, we didn't even open birthday presents at Wonderpark! The boys seemed to have a wonderful time exploring everything, and all the kids invited had a blast riding rides and playing games. We are definitely glad we had their 2nd birthday party at Wonderpark. It was well worth the $$.
Check out the photos I loaded into their 2nd Birthday Party photo album.
Thanks again! We love you all!Comments:Add a comment:
