1 Week Until Closing! We bought our home owner's insurance today (in other words ~ we have absolutely NOTHING to do before closing, other than pack!)

Packing... Packing... Packing... This is our life now. We are frantically packing and preparing for our move this weekend. Everything is set with both Title Agencies - we are closing on both homes 8/31. I can't wait until this is over and we are in our new house.

Evan and Aidan consume more food than I ever imagined possible for 8 1/2 month old babies! Goodness. They are going through 3 jars of food (combined) at each meal ~ breakfast, lunch, dinner! We stock up on baby food about 50 jars at a time, and it seems like it vanishes over night! They are also eating between 4-6 bottles every day (between 6-8 oz each). It's amazing. One jar of NeoSure formula lasts us just about 1.5-2 days only! They have mastered the technique to eating solids and we can't get the spoon in their little beaks fast enough. It's cute to watch these little eating machines.

Evan's first words were today "Da Da Da". It was too cute!! He likes to mimic my mouth when I talk to him by opening and closing it just like me. He is so animated and adorable.

Aidan is talking baby talk now. His favorite words: "bah blah bah blah". It's the sweetest, cutest thing!!
Evan and Aidan's new favorite game: pacifier theft. It's hilarious. I will put them in one crib to let them play and before I know it, Aidan has both pacifiers (his and Evans). I return the stolen pacifier to Evan and the next thing I know... Evan has ripped Aidan's bib and pacifier string off and is grasping both pacifiers. They make me laugh so hard. It's amazing to watch them interact, talk, laugh and touch each other. They are so lucky to have each other, and I am so lucky to be able to enjoy it. The lives of Twins....Comments:Add a comment:

Aidan is getting a little better. He sounds very hoarse, but Grandma actually got him to drink 8 oz. of formula out of a bottle this morning! Yeah!!
Unfortunately, Evan is exhibiting the same signs as Aidan was. We think he has the same virus now, too. What a week.
Tonight we are going up to the new house to do the home/termite inspections. Hope all goes well!Comments:Add a comment:

Poor Aidan. His little body is covered in a rash. He still won't eat a bottle. I paged Dr. Parks this morning and she told me to start giving Aidan eye-droppers full of Pedialyte. It worked, he swallows it, but still refuses to take a bottle. I am worried sick for him. I have prayed for him all day. Dr. Parks also said that a rash is the final stages of a viral infection, which makes me feel a little bit better. Please, let him get better soon. He has already lost 1/2 a pound.

Poor Aidan is having a really tough time these past 3 days and nights. He now has 3 teeth on the bottom (with the 4th one just about to emerge) and he also has 2 teeth on the top that are popping out (1 is all the way out). He has had bloody gums today, not to mention the fact that I can't get him to take ANY bottles today. I took him to the Dr., wondering if he has an ear infection on top of it, but she said he doesn't have one. He does have a viral infection, and a really inflamed & swollen throat (and congested). Needless to say, we have gotten VERY little sleep these past 3 nights. Two nights ago, Aidan screamed every 30-40 minutes all night long. I would say Slawek and I got about 1-2 hours sleep total all night. It's been rough ~ on all of us.
Poor Aidan, please feel better soon.Comments:Add a comment:

WE JUST PUT AN OFFER ON A HOUSE!!!
It's a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath two-story home (2 car garage, completely finished, full basement, HUGE deck, full front porch with ceiling fan & porch swing, and 1 acre lot). It's in the same neighborhood where my parents and sister live, which makes it wonderful!! We fell in LOVE with the lot (and house, of course). A 1 acre lotis practically UNHEARD of in the area where this house is. Most homes are around 1/4-1/2 of an acre. We are totally excited. It was listed For Sale By Owner, so there is no MLS listing, or I would send you the link to the house. The house is 10 years old and in PERFECT condition. (The lady who lives there cleans houses for a living and boy can you tell!) There is even a Twin Bunk Bed set up in the boys' room (which is a boy / Nascar theme). I could totally imagine our boys in there.
We looked at quite a few homes in the last few days, and this one just fell in our laps. We felt IMMEDIATELY that we belonged there, especially after looking at the other homes in the neighborhood. It's not the biggest home we looked at (it has only 2100 sq. ft., excluding the finished basement), but it has so much charm and personality. There is a big shed in the back on the house that matches the house and has Victorian looking spindles on it. I knew this was the one.
We are set to close on both homes (our current and this new one) on 8/31. We were preapproved yesterday with a 5.625 % interest rate (fixed). The buyer of our current home did their inspections 2 days ago and although we haven't heard back, her real estate agent assured me that there were no "show stoppers."
That's the wonderful news for now! Say a prayer that all goes well with our quick closing of both homes and our upcoming move! I am so proud to say that we will be able to have Evan and Aidan's 1st birthday in our new, big, close-to-all-our-family-members home!!!!Comments:Add a comment:

Evan is sitting all by himself now. Both boys like to play while sitting together now. It's the best sight!
