Nurse Beth, I am so glad to hear from you via our guestbook (I don't know if you will read this or not, but Slawek and I want you to know how often we think about you and talk about you). Thanks to you, Robyn, and all the other NICU Nurses, our boys are thriving and growing. We thank God every day for our miracle babies, and we also thank God that our boys had such wonderful, caring Nurses during their 1st month of life. You have touched the lives of many while working at Good Sam's NICU, especially ours. We miss you!

    Love,
    Christine, Slawek, Evan & Aidan

These past 2 days have been GREAT with the boys. They are both eating more than ever, and with little or no difficulty. One thing I think I have discovered is that they don't eat well with the Avent bottles. It's a shame, as we own a ga-zillion of them. The Dr. Browns bottles have been working better and better with them. I only own 6 of them, so I end up washing and re-using quickly, but at least it prevents the sink from getting piled up with 300 Avent bottles.

Pretty pathetic that all I have to talk about is Avent vs. Dr. Browns bottles? Yep, pretty pathetic.

Today was a beautiful day! It's gorgeous outside. I am so glad that Spring has finally sprung. I took the boys out for a while today, just to get some fresh air.

Tuesday, we will have the boys' christening photos taken at Picture People. I am hoping they go well!

This weekend our 1 and only goal is to CLEAN the house. The Gorczyk's arrive in T-minus 1 week and counting! YIKESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

Things have been better as far as feedings go. They are eating like champs! Through trial and error, I have figured out that the boys prefer breast milk mixed with the calorie fortifier FRESH, rather than prepared in a batch and refrigerated. So now, I wait to add the extra calories until they are ready to eat. Plus, I have been warming their bottles (rather than feeding them room temp. bottles, as the NICU did at Good Sam). So far, so good. Hopefully this string of luck lasts a while!

I have learned that everything concerning our Twins is trial and error. Everything is an experiment to see what works and what does not work. Sometimes it can be exhausting - but it is always rewarding.

The boys are doing great! They both are so long now, growing longer instead of chubbier. I can't wait for the Gorczyk family to see our pride & joy next week! Next week!!!!!!!

Last night was a rough night ~ little Evan woke up screaming about every other hour, for some reason. To be honest, I am charting their fluid intakes every day now. I know that they are gaining good weight, but it doesn't seem like they eat a lot during the day. Yesterday, Aidan took in 20.3 oz. of 24 calorie breastmilk (fortified) and Evan took in 16.3 oz. of 24 calorie breastmilke (fortified). I read in the Enfamil magazine that a 3 month baby should be taking in 25-30 oz. of milk every day. We are way off that. I understand they are preemies, but it still seems kinda low to me. They have 6-8 wet diapers a day, so I know that's normal - but they only have a bowel movement 1 time per week. I have called the Pediatrician NUMEROUS times about that, and they keep telling me that "some babies only have bowel movements once per week." When I say, "even babies who are fed breastmilk?" He responds with a "yes." That just doesn't seem right.

Now we are busily preparing for the arrival of Slawek's family from Poland. They arrive on Good Friday and will stay through 4/6. (Their baptism is 4/3). Busy, Busy, Busy.

Two nights ago, Evan & Aidan both slept about 5-6 hours. I hadn't pumped for 7 hours. By the time I got up, I was so miserably engorged, I had to pump for 1 hour. My yield: 17 oz. of breastmilk. Holy cow, I have never in my life pumped that much milk before. I guess my skin (from stretching) itched so badly that I was scratching myself to death. Brought back memories of the morphine they gave me after my c-section to help with the pain. Yikes! I scratched my chest until I bled after my c-section!

    Weight update:

    Evan: 10 lbs. 5.1 oz
    Aidan: 11 lbs. 10.9 oz

Today Evan & Aidan received their 4th Synagis (RSV protection) injection from the Children's Hospital Home Nurse.

All is well ~ our next Pediatrician appt. is 4/12 and our next Synagis (last) injection is 4/4.

Onto the Baptism in just a few short weeks!

Please sponsor me in Walk America 2005:

    http://www.walkamerica.org/KrysiaG

Today in the U.S., 1 in every 8 babies will be born prematurely. Some of them won't survive, and others will have health problems that could last a lifetime. The funds we raise in WalkAmerica support research that saves babies' lives.

Please support me in my walk for other premature infants, just like my precious twins boys: Evan and Aidan. It was through donations and wonderful hospital care that our two precious miracles survived their early arrival into the world. We will never be able to repay the wonderful NICU staff for everything they did for our two boys.

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality.
