Happy 1st Birthday, Aidan. We love you more than life itself.
God came to us the day we conceived you, and I knew it on this very day when I looked into your eyes.
This is a day I will remember forever. We are truly blessed.Comments:Add a comment:

Walking update: We're getting close!!!
Aidan could totally walk on his own right now. He could do it, I know it - but he doesn't have the courage. He barrels thru the house with 1 hand on that push/walker thingy, practically running. But, when we try and have him let go, he immediately goes down and crawls where he needs to be. I have tried tempting him, sitting behind him, just holding his shirt with my fingers (a little support). He won't have it. He's afraid.
Evan stands all by himself for several minutes now. He won't take a step, but he just stands there. He has good balance... now he just has to learn to take that step. He honestly doesn't walk as good as Aidan does though. Aidan's got it down, buddy. But, Evan is fearless - and that's their big difference.Comments:Add a comment:

Aidan had his first major boo boo tonight. He busted his lip (on the inside and outside) on our fireplace. Blood was everywhere. We purposely moved our couch in front of the fireplace for the last few weeks, as the boys love hanging around the fireplace (crawling on it, standing next to it, tasting it, etc.) We had guests coming over yesterday so we decided to move the couch back. Aidan noticed it right away and did a face crash into the bricks.
Poor little guy... he punctured his upper/inner lip with his teeth, which caused a lot of bleeding, and now has 2 huge scabs on the outter lip. He had a puffed lip all night.
And we are supposed to have their 1 Year Old Portraits taken tomorrow, along w/ our family Christmas portraits. Oh well, we'll try it anyway.Comments:Add a comment:

Happy Thanksgiving!!
I remember this time last year. I was so excited to get to go to such a big meal. I was big and pregnant and craved everything. It's too bad that I was so big (measuring 4 weeks overdue) that I was too miserable to enjoy all the great cooking from my family. I delivered just a few days after Thanksgiving 2004, so this is a sentimental time for me.
This was an awesome Thanksgiving. I am so thankful that God blessed us with our two most beautiful boys in the whole world - happy and healthy boys. We are lucky to have ever had children, and since they were 9 weeks early, we are extremely lucky that they are so healthy and perfect.
Thank God. Thank God for the best blessings of all - our family.Comments:Add a comment:

Twin Angels
Four tiny hands, four tiny feet
Two babies we created so discreet.
We nurtured you both and watched you grow.
From the very beginning, from just embryos.
Mom carried you snuggly, careful and close
And protected you both from your head to your toes.
We dreamed of the love, but didn't know the joys
Until we were blessed with two little boys.
Two blessings you were, two miracles indeed
Who were given to us in our time of need.
We longed to give life and create such a love,
And have been blessed with two angels from above.
-----------------------------------------
Twins
So many good things come in pairs,
Like ears and socks and panda bears.
But best of all are sets of twins,
with extra laughter, double grins.
There's so much fun in having two
with twice as many points of view.
So much alike, forever linked,
and yet they're also quite distinct.
They share a birthday and a name,
But moods and tempers aren't the same.
Although at times they may dispute,
their loyalty is absolute.
From days of youth till life is done,
it's one for both and both for one.
We're all quite novel and precise,
But special folks ~
God made twice.Comments:Add a comment:

Today we took the boys to the Cincinnati Cinergy Children's Museum. They LOVED it. We all liked it so much, we went ahead and bought an annual Family Membership as part of the boys' 1st Birthday presents. They were all over the place! I added lots of cute pictures in the "Our 12th Month" Photo Album, take a peek. They played hard for a good 2 hours and finally collapsed. I am so glad we took them, though. They will get many, many years of fun activity and family bonding out of our membership.
We are taking the boys back there on their actual 1st Birthday, which is next week on 11/30/05. Babcia & Dziadek Gorczyk will be here visiting from Poland, and we would like them to see all the things the boys love to do. We are taking Grandma Campbell with us on that special day, as well. Slawek and I scheduled time off work so we could spend the days with our precious little ones.
(Note: To anyone considering something to do with their kids <10 years old, we highly recommend taking them to this Children's Museum. It's the best place for little ones!)Comments:Add a comment:

Let Them Be Little (lyrics)
by Billy Dean (Lonestar)
I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand
Felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute
How it amazes me, you're changing with every blink
Faster than a flower blooms they grow up all too soon
So let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little
I've never felt so much in one little tender touch
I live for those kisses, prayers and your wishes
Now that you're teaching me things only a child can see
Every night while we're on our knees all I ask is please
Let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little
So innocent, a precious soul, you turn around
It's time to let them go
So let them be little 'cause they're only that way for a while
Give them hope, give them praise, give them love every day
Let them cry, let them giggle, let them sleep in the middle
Oh just let them be little
Let them be littleComments:Add a comment:

The boys are so cute! I love this age. They are crawling or walking (by holding furniture and tables, etc.) around everything. They love to play together, crawl/chase each other, and they love to babble and talk the day away.
Both boys are teething. Evan still has 6 teeth; Aidan has 8 teeth. Aidan has been trying to get some of his bigger teeth on his bottom jawline for a while now. They both have their hands continually in their mouths and baby drool is on everything.
They both are starting to eat lots of things now. Their favorite food: CHEERIOS (especially Evan). You show Evan that Cheerios box and he goes nuts for them. He is very precise with his hands and fingers. He picks one up individually, but then ends up with 30 in his mouth all at once. Aidan likes to grab them with his palms and just shovel them in.
The boys are so different. Aidan is all over the place, discovering and exploring everything. Evan likes to take his time examining things over and over. I think Evan takes after his Aunt Magda.
Right now we are busy preparing for the arrival of Babcia and Dziadek Gorczyk. They will arrive in <2 weeks. And then the boys' 1st birthday is now <2 weeks away, as well. Busy, Busy, Busy!!
The holiday season is fast approaching, and I am having a lot of emotional feelings. Every time a Christmas carol plays on the radio, I start crying - remembering the time when the boys were born, remembering their stay in the NICU, remembering the scare we had on Christmas Eve with little Evan. Christmas will always be an emotional holiday for me, especially after last year.
Happy Holidays!Comments:Add a comment:

Aidan has his 1st ear infection. Poor boo boo. He was miserable all night last night, screaming and crying. Dr. Drasnin looked in his ear and confirmed that he does have an ear infection. He's on antibiotics now, so hopefully in a few days he will feel much, much better. Poor Aidan.
